Watercolor of the day ~ Ukiyo-e Lore

Ukiyo-e Lore #1 ~ Watercolor by John Klobucher

Hello friends and art fans! Here’s a little Art of Lore

I’ve long loved the Japanese art of Ukiyo-e, the colorful woodblock prints of such masters as Hokusai and Hiroshige. This watercolor, an invented new view of Mount Fuji, pays homage to them and their classic craft.

Title: Ukiyo-e Lore
Painted: August 1990
Paints: Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colours
Paper: Arches Watercolor Block, warm pressed, 140lb 9″x12″
