Musical Lore ~ The Gypsy Jazz of Tomoko & 440

My violinist friend Tomoko Iwamoto and her gypsy jazz ensemble, 440, have just released an awesome album of the coolest music I’ve heard in a long time. Their CD is called “Why Why” and you’ve just got to get it!

If you aren’t familiar with gypsy jazz, it’s the nightclub music of 1930’s Paris pioneered by guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt and often featured in the films of Woody Allen. It’s a sound that’s easy to love.

I guarantee that this is music of lore!

Hello friends and art fans! Here’s the latest Art of Lore

This Lore-ified image was taken on the grounds of legendary Hearst Castle, looking off to the rugged east. No wonder it became “Xanadu” when fictionalized in Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane.
