Hello friends and art fans! Here’s a little Art of Lore…

This watercolor is an abstract vision of the sights and spirits surrounding the ancient Wukoki Pueblo, from the Wupatki National Monument in Arizona. I’ve painted this motif in many styles since first seeing it in 1984, but I never tire of reinterpreting the wide blue sky, the earthy tones of the land, or the red sandstone walls that have stood for a thousand years.

Hello friends and art fans! Here’s a little Art of Lore…

This watercolor is an abstract landscape based on a view of tropical Tangolunda Bay on the Pacific Ocean in Oaxaca, Mexico. The painting style uses a composite of distinct brush strokes and colors to suggest the overall scene. I guess you’d say it’s something between a mosaic and a quilt.
